We are committed to encountering Jesus through the treasures found in the three great traditions of the church. The three streams are the Historical, the Evangelical and the Charismatic.

We believe that each of these streams has greatly effected the world in a positive and Christ centered way.  Each of these streams have within them rich treasures and we long to embrace them simultaneously at Via Comox Valley.

Unity in the Church

We believe that holding these three streams together will allow for a unity within the church like that seen in the first 300-400 years of the church (the kind of unity that Paul writes about in his letter to the Ephesians and that Jesus prayer for in John 17)

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”  Ephesians 2:19-22

“that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:21

Treasures in Each Stream

We often treat people that are a part of different streams as ‘strangers and aliens’ to us, but we as a church are committed to celebrating our differences by placing our attention of  the treasures found in each stream rather than on the differences that have for too long caused division.  Together we are all a part of Christ’s glorious Church. Although we know that VIA Comox Valley can’t and won’t be the suitable home for every believer we do want it to be a place where, no matter what your background, you feel at home with us.

There are key pieces to each stream that we wish to adopt and balance together to provide the framework for Via Apostolica.
